The Boy (& biopsy results)

Well, I got a call from the Vet with the scoop on Bo. They're still not 100% sure what's wrong with him, but they've narrowed it down to two possibilities: 1) Pioderma - a severe infection on the lowest layer of the skin. This would require either removing all of his skin (not really an option) or hoping that an antibiotic called sephalexin taken orally 2 times a day for the next couple of months would clear it up. OR 2) Lupus - an autoimmune disease in which the body's natural defense system attacks its own tissues. This would require regular doses of the steroid pregnazone for the rest of his life. I'm really hoping for the Pioderma. If this is the case, it is possible that it could clear up within a few months; and though he'd have it for life, it would only resurface ocassionally. Thanks for so many of you inquiring about the health of our dog! He feels loved! ;-)

Nike sends his best wishes for Bo: Hew told me to send this for him because his paws kept hitting multiple keys when he tried to send a message!

Buddy wishes him the best as well. He enjoyed the times he would come over and play.
